Acorn quickly went on to manufacture the Acorn Superglide 120 Stairlift, which soon succeeded in becoming one of the most outstanding and popular stairlifts on the market. Even now, the Acorn Superglide 120 stands at the very front of the pack when it comes to innovative stairlift technology.

Acorn went on to develop stairlifts using DC technology, a step which all other stairlift manufacturers soon followed, due to the large number of benefits that were associated with DC technology, such as improved safety and a nice smooth power delivery, with the added advantage of the DC technology meaning that these stairlifts can be operated even if experiencing a mains power failure.

Acorn is now counted as one of the biggest manufacturers and sellers of stairlifts across the word, manufacturing over 50,000 units each year and operating across the UK, Germany, the USA and Canada, as well as Australia.
