Editorial Policy
Last reviewed 22 October 2026. This page sets out how Review Mobility decides what to publish, where our facts come from, how we make money and how to get something corrected. If anything on the site falls short of it, tell us at hello@reviewmobility.co.uk.
Who publishes Review Mobility
Review Mobility is a trading name of Whito Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10918465), registered office 20-22 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. Whito Ltd also publishes Stairlift Guru and StairliftCosts. Where one of those sites appears in our directory, its profile says so.
Pages carry the byline “Review Mobility”. They are written and maintained by our editorial team.
Independence
- We do not sell mobility equipment, and we do not install or service it.
- Listing a company in our directory is free. No company can pay to be listed, to appear higher, to remove a review, to change a rating or to buy a label.
- No company sees an article about it before we publish it.
- Companies we write about have no say over what we write. If a company disputes a fact, we look at the evidence and correct the page if we got it wrong. We do not remove accurate criticism.
How we make money
We earn commission when a reader buys through some of our links to retailers. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, and we also use the Awin affiliate network. Commission does not change the price you pay.
Commission never decides which products we include, the order we put them in or what we say about them. Pages with affiliate links say so near the top, before the first link. Full details are on our disclosure page. If the way we make money changes, this page and the disclosure page change first.
Where our facts come from
We go to the original source wherever one exists:
- law and official guidance from legislation.gov.uk, GOV.UK, nidirect, gov.wales and gov.scot;
- official statistics from the Department for Work and Pensions (Stat-Xplore), NHS England and the Office for National Statistics;
- company records from Companies House;
- product facts from the maker’s own datasheet, user manual or product page.
Every price, grant figure and statistic on the site should carry its source and the date we last checked it. Where a page has a date and no source, treat that as an error and tell us.
When a maker publishes two different figures for the same thing (for example two weights or two ranges for one scooter), we use the less favourable one.
How we compare products
Our product guides compare equipment against the makers’ published documents and the retailers’ listings, read on the date shown on the page. Unless a page says that we used a product ourselves, we have not. We do not describe a product as tested when it was not.
How we treat companies
- We only rank companies in a category when enough of them have at least 3 reviews, with at least one from the last 18 months. Until then we list them A to Z and say so.
- Where we show Companies House details, we give the company number, its status and the date we checked. We only match a profile to a Companies House record when the name and address agree. If we cannot match a firm with confidence, we leave the record out rather than guess.
- A website that no longer works is not evidence that a business has closed, and we do not say it is.
- When an article says a named company does something wrong, every factual claim about that company is quoted from its own public pages, with the date we read them. We separate what the company says from our comment on it, and we offer the company a right of reply. If it replies, we publish the reply in full.
How customer reviews are collected, labelled and moderated is set out in our review policy.
Health, money and legal topics
Our guides on equipment, grants, benefits, tax relief and consumer rights are general information. They are not medical, financial or legal advice. Equipment that suits one person can be unsuitable for another. Speak to your GP, or ask your local council for a needs assessment, before buying for a health condition or a fall risk.
Tools we use
We use software, including AI writing tools, to help gather information and draft pages. A tool’s output is not a source. Figures and claims are checked against the sources listed above before they are published, and Review Mobility is responsible for everything on the site.
Our data
The datasets we build ourselves, such as our price index and benefit tables, say how they were collected, when, and what their limits are. They are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. You may reuse the figures if you credit Review Mobility and link to the page.
Keeping pages up to date
Each guide shows when it was published and when it was last updated. We change the “last updated” date when we change or re-check the content, not to make a page look newer. Where a refresh replaces a figure from our own research, the earlier figure stays on the page as a previous edition so anyone who quoted it can still find it.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, email hello@reviewmobility.co.uk with the page address and what is wrong. When we correct a fact, we fix the page and add a note saying what changed and when. We do not silently rewrite a figure that others may have quoted.
