Mobility Hire Announces Partnership With Home Care Provider Alcedo Care

Care worker supporting an older person at home

Mobility equipment rental specialist Mobility Hire has announced a new partnership with Alcedo Care, one of the UK’s leading providers of care at home. The collaboration will see Mobility Hire supply mobility and medical equipment to support Alcedo Care’s clients in living safely and independently in their own homes.

Alcedo Care operates across the north of England and Wales, with a team delivering services for older people that include complex care, brain injury support, spinal injury care, end of life care, dementia care and companionship. Mobility Hire is a family business based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, providing mobility and medical equipment hire across the UK, as reported by THIIS.

Ashley Griffiths, Business Development Manager at Mobility Hire, said the company looks forward to working closely with the Alcedo Care team to provide first class products and service to their clients, keeping them safe and independent at home.

The partnership highlights a growing trend in the mobility sector: renting equipment rather than buying it outright. For people recovering from surgery, awaiting a permanent adaptation or trying out equipment before committing, hiring can be a practical and affordable option. It applies to everything from wheelchairs and mobility scooters through to more substantial home equipment. Even stairlifts can be hired, and our stairlift rental guide explains when renting makes more sense than buying.

Tie-ups between equipment suppliers and home care providers can also smooth out one of the more frustrating parts of arranging care at home: coordinating the right equipment at the right time. When a care provider can call on a trusted equipment partner, clients are less likely to face gaps between an assessment identifying a need and the equipment actually arriving.

For families arranging support for a relative, it is worth asking any prospective care provider how they source equipment and whether hire options are available. You can also research and compare mobility aids and find rated mobility companies in your area on Review Mobility.
