Naidex 2026: Carbon Fibre Scooters and Adaptive Tech Steal the Show

Adaptive mobility technology

Naidex 2026, the UK’s largest disability and accessibility exhibition, took place on 25 and 26 March at the NEC Birmingham, attracting 265 exhibitors and thousands of visitors. This year’s show highlighted a clear industry trend towards lightweight, portable mobility solutions powered by advanced materials.

Among the standout products were two carbon fibre mobility scooters that drew significant attention on the show floor. The Sterling S50 Carbon, a one-piece folding boot scooter crafted from carbon fibre, weighs just 13kg with its flight-ready battery removed, making it one of the lightest scooters on the market. The Supa Carbon Lite from Monarch Mobility, another premium folding scooter, matches that 13kg weight while delivering what the manufacturer describes as outstanding strength for on-the-go lifestyles.

The Scooterpac Ignite Mini Sport, launched in January 2026, also made its public debut at Naidex. The compact scooter is designed for active users who need a nimble, transportable device for everyday use.

Beyond products, Naidex 2026 introduced several new features. Naidex Junior, a free-to-access hub for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, launched at this year’s show. The exhibition also featured a Mobility Test Track where visitors could try equipment in a realistic setting, an Adaptive Climbing Wall, and the popular Village Green area with live performances.

The British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) reported a positive experience for its members at the show, with over 30 BHTA member companies showing innovative products and services across wheelchairs, walking aids, daily living aids, and rehabilitation technology.

Naidex has been running for over 50 years and remains the most established platform for the UK disability community. The show’s conference programme covered topics from accessible travel to assistive technology in the workplace, reflecting the broadening scope of the mobility aids industry.
