Northern Ireland mobility retailer Stairlift Solutions N.I. has opened a second showroom in Derry, giving customers across the north-west of the region a place to see stairlifts and other mobility equipment in person. The company already operates a showroom in Newtownards, County Down.
What the new showroom offers
The new site is on the Maydown Industrial Estate and covers 3,500 square feet over two levels. According to THIIS Magazine, the space displays a wide range of stairlift models alongside mobility scooters, riser recliners, wheelchairs and rollators. The opening was attended by local councillors, charity representatives and business owners, and supplier representatives from Access BDD Stairlifts, Electric Mobility and Scooterpac also visited. Local personality Frank Mitchell, a company ambassador, cut the ribbon.
Managing Director Michael Wallace said there was nothing like it in that part of the country, and that the company wanted to showcase its products and customer service to a new region. He added that the response so far had been very positive.
Stannah stairlifts now available
Stairlift Solutions N.I. also said it is now an official dealer for Stannah Stairlifts in Northern Ireland, and it reports strong interest in the range. You can find details on the company’s own site at stairliftsolutionsni.com. The retailer says it offers free delivery, assembly and demonstration across Northern Ireland, has several full-time engineers on the road and provides round-the-clock after-sales care. It claims more than 10,000 customers over 26 years and over 1,000 reviews and testimonials, although these figures are the company’s own.
Regional access to mobility advice
Independent showrooms can be hard to reach in rural areas, and a second site in the north-west should cut travel for people who previously had to journey to County Down. That matters for older customers and carers who may find long trips tiring, and it gives local people a chance to talk to a nearby team about installation timetables, after-sales support and ongoing servicing.
Why seeing a stairlift in person helps
Visiting a showroom lets you sit in a seat, check the controls and compare straight and curved models before you commit. Think about the swivel seat, the folding footrest and armrests, the weight rating, and how the rail will sit on your staircase. A good retailer will survey your stairs and give a written quote, and will explain what servicing and warranty cover is included.
If you are comparing options, our stairlift guide explains the main types, and our stairlift costs guide sets out what to expect to pay. Where a stairlift is not a good fit, a home lift or mobility furniture such as a riser recliner may help, and you can ask for prices through our stairlift quote page. If you want a short-term solution, see our stairlift rental guide.
Local showrooms are valuable for people who prefer face-to-face advice, and the expansion adds choice for households in Derry and the wider north-west.
