TGA Mobility has added the WHILL C Lite to its UK range, a foldable powered wheelchair built around a carbon fibre frame. The company showed it at Naidex in March 2026, and THIIS Magazine reported on 19 October that it is now being added to TGA’s range.
The headline figure is weight. The chair has a lifting weight of 17kg, which TGA says makes it a full size powerchair that is still manageable to load into a car. It folds with one hand in about two seconds and stands upright when folded, which makes storage in a hallway or boot simpler. In its Naidex announcement, TGA described the frame as made from recycled carbon fibre resin that can be recycled again at the end of its life.
The chair uses omni-wheels rather than front castors. TGA says these allow tight turns and easier movement in narrow spaces. A directional joystick can be fitted on the left or right, and carbon suspension and a medical-grade cushion are intended to reduce vibration. The back support, armrests and footrest are adjustable, and a smartphone app shows battery level and speed settings. According to the Naidex announcement, the app also supports remote controlled parking and preference settings.
The standard battery gives a range of up to 14.5 miles, with a top speed of 4mph and a maximum user weight of 21.5 stone. A long range battery is available for up to 23.5 miles. It comes in lime green, black and white, and accessories include a Loading Arm for lifting the chair into a vehicle. TGA Managing Director Daniel Stone said the chair brings together comfort, capability, convenience and freedom.
Is a folding powerchair right for you?
Lightweight folding powerchairs suit people who travel by car, use taxis or want to take a chair indoors without a ramp. The trade-offs are usually a modest range, a 4mph top speed and less suspension travel than larger outdoor chairs. If you mainly cover longer distances on pavements, a mobility scooter may suit better, and our mobility scooters guide compares them. Check the stated range against your real journeys, and try a chair before you buy, ideally at home. Our wheelchair costs guide covers what powered chairs typically cost, and our wheelchairs hub lists the main types.
