About Wessex Lifts

Wessex Lifts is one of the UK’s most established lift manufacturers, founded in 1976 and now part of the Ratcliff Group. Based in Romsey, Hampshire, they employ around 150 staff including over 50 dedicated service and installation engineers, providing nationwide coverage through their regional engineer network. The company specialises in through-floor home lifts, enclosed residential lifts, step lifts, and platform lifts for both domestic and commercial properties. Their flagship VM (Vertical Modular) home lift is the most popular model of its kind in the UK, with over 13,000 units sold across more than 28 years of production. Standard installation typically takes just two days, minimising disruption to the household. Wessex Lifts also offers comprehensive 24/7 maintenance contracts, with trained engineers providing preventive servicing and emergency repairs on equipment from multiple manufacturers. All products meet CE Certification and EN 81-40 European lift safety standards, giving customers confidence in the quality and reliability of their installation.

Reviews on this page come from Review Mobility readers, not from the company. Testimonials on a supplier website are chosen by the supplier. Yours will not be.

The most useful reviews say which branch or engineer you dealt with, what you bought, how long delivery actually took, and what happened when something needed putting right.
