Obam Stairlifts Unclaimed profile

Obam Stairlifts is an independent, family-run access company based at Sturton by Stow, near Lincoln. It was established in 2000 by brothers Chris and Steve Butroid with business partners Lee Ogden and Pete Morley, and the team now brings more than 100 years of combined experience to the business. The company marked its 25th anniversary in 2025 and works with every local authority across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

As an independent supplier, Obam is not tied to one manufacturer and stocks several leading stairlift brands, including Platinum, Handicare, Otolift, Bespoke and Bruno. This means an adviser can recommend the best fit for each staircase and budget rather than a single product. The range covers new straight and curved stairlifts, reconditioned models and rental stairlifts, along with standing and perch lifts for people who find sitting difficult. Curved rails are made to measure for staircases with bends, half-landings or multiple flights.

Obam does more than stairlifts. The company also supplies, installs and services through-floor home lifts, hoists and access ramps, making it a single point of contact for a range of home access needs. Its showroom displays around 11 working stairlifts so customers can try before they buy.

Service is a core strength. Obam runs a genuine 24-hour, 365-day engineer on-call service rather than a call centre, and its advisers are salaried surveyors rather than commission-based salespeople, so quotes are based on need rather than sales targets. Every enquiry includes a free, no-obligation home survey, new products carry at least a 12-month warranty, and the company is ISO 9001 certified. Obam covers Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, Humberside and Derbyshire.
