Frequently asked questions
What is the BHTA?
The British Healthcare Trades Association is the trade body for the mobility and assistive technology sector. Members sign up to a code of practice approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, which is a useful sign of a reputable shop.
Should I use a local shop or buy online?
A local shop is best for trying equipment, getting fitted and arranging servicing. Online can be cheaper for accessories and known products. Many of the shops here offer both.
Do mobility shops offer Motability?
Many do. Motability lets eligible people lease a scooter or powerchair using part of their mobility allowance, and several shops in this list are Motability dealers.
